Our farm journey began in August 2021, with the arrival of our first baby chicks and the first tangible step toward a lifelong dream. Since childhood, I had imagined a place where animals are cared for with respect, where sustainability is a way of life, and where farming is both practical and beautiful.
Long before I knew the terms regenerative, biodynamic, or permaculture, I carried a clear vision: a farm that is environmentally gentle, artistically inspired, and deeply alive. My childhood passions for biology and the arts never left me — they grew, intertwined, and eventually found their home on this farm.
It all began with a simple yet radical idea: that we can significantly reduce waste and pollution by living more consciously.
While living in Russia, we began sorting our waste and extracting reusable materials to bring them to volunteer-run recycling collection points, at a time when no formal recycling system existed in the country. We were pioneers of this movement and often faced misunderstanding and lack of support from our community. Still, we continued, because we deeply believed it was the right thing to do.
Later, we moved to Indonesia, where we chose a natural home birth for our first child — something that was not legally possible in our home country. This experience led us to question another assumption of modern life: does everything truly need to be medicated, artificial, and disconnected from natural processes?
The transformative home-birth experience in Bali gave us confidence and clarity. From there, our journey continued to Europe — to Estonia — where we encountered an artistic, eco-conscious, and minimalist way of living that further shaped our values.
In 2020, we moved to the United States, where we realized that what we truly wanted was land — a small piece of Earth that would allow us to practice grounding, sustainability, and everything we had learned throughout our life journey. That realization became the foundation of our farm.
That tiny piece of land in Southern Oregon, in the artistic town of Ashland, became not just a farm, but a living expression of our values — a place where nature, family, creativity, and responsibility come together.
In October 2020, we welcomed a German Shepherd into our farm family. He now works as a livestock guardian dog and does his job beautifully. In September 2024, another long-held dream came true when we welcomed dairy goats to the farm.
In 2023, I also began baking my own bread — bread that embodied everything I believe truly nourishing bread should be. Since then, I have continuously refined the recipe, removing anything unnecessary and keeping only the highest-quality ingredients I deeply value.
Chocolate making is another passion of mine. I began experimenting with cacao butter in 2017 while living a vegan lifestyle, searching for a simple, nourishing chocolate made with integrity. I fell in love with cacao butter and eventually began making chocolate for my family using just three ingredients: cacao, milk, and sugar. In 2024, acquiring a melanger finally allowed me to create true fine chocolate — simple, pure, and cacao-forward.
Since acquiring this land, we have focused deeply on soil health. We began with horse manure, followed by chicken manure, and eventually goat and rabbit manure. We collect organic matter from friends who share our no-spray, all-organic values. In 2021, we introduced red wiggler composting worms, returning all of our organic waste to the soil. Today, those worms thrive beneath our feet, continuously enriching the land and completing the cycle of life.
So welcome to our journey into permaculture, sustainability, and an eco-conscious way of living.
